In this unprecedented time of work and social disruption, below are information and tools to help ACE Certified Professionals continue to work with clients and maintain income, and to provide meaningful support and connection to candidates studying for an ACE Certification exam.

An important note about recertification:
If your certification lapsed because you weren’t working and you are concerned that you may not be able to renew, ACE is here to help. We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the careers of many of our certified exercise professionals and health coaches. ACE also recognizes the work you do is vital for the health and well-being of society and that your clients and communities need you more than ever.
Individuals can reinstate their certification(s) without having to retake the certification exam due to COVID-19 related hardship situations for up to 12 months from their original expiration date. For ACE Certification Exam Candidates
Exams
Exam Site Reopening: There are over 1300 testing sites open worldwide. Testing sites have been taking extra precautions to maintain a clean and safe environment for exam candidates. Regular cleanings are occurring, and proctors are spacing candidates according to CDC social distancing recommendations. Candidates are permitted, or may be required, to wear a mask. The mask must remain on throughout the exam and subject to proctor inspection. To find a testing location near click here.
Live Promote Proctoring (LRP): Take the ACE Certification Exam from home.
Candidates have the option to take their Certification Exam remotely. This option will provide an alternative to taking the ACE exam at a testing site, allowing candidates to get certified from the comfort of their home. LRP is available for English-based exams for all four ACE Certification programs worldwide.
Receiving ACE certificates: ACE has moved entirely to digital credentials as of August 11, 2021. This means all ACE Professionals have immediate access to their certificate upon passing their exam. To view your certificate please login to your MyACE account and click Access My Credentials.

ACE Advocacy and COVID-19
Shared Use
With many states and counties limiting indoor gym activity due to COVID-19, ACE believes that the use of accessible public spaces like parks and green spaces in cities and towns across the country is more important than ever. These community spaces are optimal for safe, structured physical activity programming facilitated by certified exercise professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Below are resources that may be helpful to you in learning more about shared use and how you may be able to work with your state and local government to secure access to these spaces to deliver the exercise programs your clients and participants need to maintain their health.
COVID-19 Relief Package legislation- The CARES Act
On March 27, 2020 a federal COVID-19 relief package was signed into law. It contains important information that could assist you during this unprecedented time. Recertification
CEC Club
We know that many ACE Certified Professionals need CECs for recertification, and that the cancellation of events and associated costs are a concern for those with certifications expiring soon. The CEC Club is an affordable, convenient way to learn from home while earning CECs. We’ve provided options for a 12-month and 6-month subscription with monthly payment plans available. Starting as low as $19.95 per month, the first monthly payment provides immediate access to over 100 online courses.

CPR/AED live skills-check waived through June 30, 2022
During the COVID-19 crisis there is extremely limited availability of live skills-checks for CPR/AED in response to the CDC’s social distancing recommendations. To accommodate ACE Certification Candidates and ACE Certified Professionals who need to recertify, we are temporarily waiving the live skills-check requirement through June 30, 2022.
If you enroll in a blended CPR/AED course that includes online and live, in-person components, we will accept a certificate of completion for only the online portion to satisfy your CPR/AED requirements to sit for the exam or renew your ACE certification.

Please note: Completion of the online portion only of a CPR/AED course will meet ACE exam registration and certification renewal requirements through June 30, 2022.
Shipping and handling of ACE products during COVID-19
ACE is taking the utmost precautions when shipping and handling any ACE products including textbooks and printed certificates during COVID-19. Below is a snapshot of our efforts to protect you:
- ACE has limited the number of employees who pack and ship our products from our warehouse. Employees in our warehouse practice social distancing at all times.
- ACE has required employees responsible for packing boxes to use personal protectant equipment such as gloves and face coverings.
- ACE employees always practice hand hygiene as an effective way to prevent disease spread via hand washing for at least 20 seconds, and with the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizer (greater than 60% alcohol) and of course staying home if any signs of illness.
